Critical theory approach

The hidden power relations and patterns of domination within a society are revealed and debunked (Ritzer, 2000, p. l40ff). Michael Harris (1986) was an early practitioner in LIS. More recently, others have joined the debate, critiquing the roles of librarians, the kinds of research done in LIS, and so on. See Carmichael (1998), Chu (I999), Day (200I), Roma Harris (I992), Pawley (I 9%), Radford (2003), and Wiegand (1999).
